1996 Burgundy Gems: Ready to Enjoy Today!

Over the past few months we have been fortunate enough to have quite a few 1996 Burgundies. We are VERY impressed! The 1996 vintage is in a beautiful place and drinking superbly right now! No need to cellar and wait for 15 years. Open these now and have an unforgettable drinking experience.

At GRW Wine Collection, we focus on back vintage wines and we have an incredible collection of 1996's that are in stock and ready to ship today! We have DRC, Rousseau, Roumier, Dujac and Rouget to name a few!

A few highlights from this collection are:

•    DRC St Vivant 1996 – we enjoyed the 1996 Leroy RSV a few weeks ago and it was singing. The DRC RSV 96 is half the price and is sure to deliver fireworks!
We only have 1 bottle!

•    Rousseau Chambertin Clos de Beze 1996 – we have a rare 12Pk Original Case that is untouched and the
Best Price in the World

•    Rouget Vosne Romanee Cros Parantoux 1996 – a good client of mine drank this wine recently and said it was superb. We drank the 2011 Rouget Vosne Romanee Cros Parantoux in Japan last week and it was outstanding.

•    DRC Grands Echezeaux 1996 – we have 12 pristine bottles for the Best Price in the World!

1996 Rousseau Chambertin

This wine reveals a dark ruby color and mouth-watering aromas of smoked pork, bacon, juicy blackberries, road tar, raw meat, and a hint of eucalyptus. This block-buster is big, broad, dense, concentrated and complete. It is oily textured, full-bodied, and offers sublime layers of candied black raspberries, blueberries, violets, lilies, fresh herbs, Asian spices, leather, stones, smoke, and toast. This formidably structured and profound wine demands patience. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2018. Bravo! - RP96

1996 DRC St. Vivant

Gentle at first, offering rose petal aromas, it turns quite savage and tough on the palate, with loads of fruit cloaked in the very firm tannin structure. The acidity is there, and the length is terrific, but it needs time. -WS96

1996 Roumier Bonnes Mares

Christophe Roumier fashioned some seriously impressive '96s and this has finally begun to open on the spicy, pure, airy and elegant nose while displaying really lovely aromatic complexity that continues on the relatively round sappy and sweet flavors that unlike many '96s, possesses excellent acid/fruit/tannin balance on the gorgeously persistent finish. While one can discern some initial development, this is still a baby and will definitely be a long-distance runner so if you own it, additional patience is definitely required. -BH94
